Summerhouse Installation


PLEASE NOTE:  A 15 working day lead time will apply to customers requiring installation of their summer house. We will always do our best to achieve these times but exceptional or unavoidable circumstances may extend these lead times.

 

Installation is not available on all summerhouses, please refer to product for installation details and cost.

 

Let’s face it, we are not all experts in DIY, and with today’s busy lifestyles we don’t always have the time to work out what goes where and how everything fits together – even when simple step-by-step instructions are provided!

 

That’s why, here at Buy Sheds Direct, we are pleased to be able to offer you a professional installation service for your garden shed, garden building or structure, leaving you with more time to spare for other activities.  Let’s face it we make them so who better to assemble and install them?

 

Once you've made your purchase and selected our installation service our installers will arrive with your shed, un-pack it and assemble it in your chosen location.  All we need you to do is make sure that a level and firm base is ready for the building to be assembled.

 

Once the garden building is up and you are happy with the job, we will take away all the packaging and dispose of it, so you don’t have to worry about clearing up after we’ve gone.

 

Finally, our installation service has some geographical limitations, so please make sure that you check that we can offer the service in your area with our simple post code checker, or please feel free to contact us directly.

 

 

Garden Building Installation Terms and Conditions

 

Supply - When we will install your garden building.

 

1. A fifteen working day lead time will apply to customers requiring installation of their building. We will always do our best to achieve these times but exceptional or unavoidable circumstances may extend these lead times.

2. Our installation service is currently offered to certain postcodes – please refer to the postcode checker above to see if we install in your area.

3. Customers will be contacted 2-5 working days prior to the anticipated installation date.

4. Installations are carried out on weekdays only. We do not offer a Saturday or Sunday installation service.

5. Customers are encouraged to accept their first delivery date offered as alternative delivery dates and stock availability cannot be guaranteed at all times.

 

 

Installation Requirements - What we need you to do.

 

1. Please ensure that a suitable base is provided for the building you have ordered, which must be firm and level and with no obstructions i.e. trees, objects or anything that will encroach on the working space.

2. The base must be level and must be a minimum of the size of the floor of the building.
IF YOU HAVE ORDERED A SHED BASE PLEASE ENSURE THE GROUND ON WHICH YOU WOULD LIKE TO HAVE THE BASE LAYED CONTAINS NO OBSTRUCTIONS EG. FREE OF UNDERGROUND PIPES.

3. Please check that access to your garden will allow a clear passage for installers and product. Please ensure that the installation team have suitable space to park their vehicle.

4. Health and Safety and insurance liabilities prevent us from entering your property for access and should you live in a flat we will only be able to deliver the building and will have to abort the installation.

5. To ensure that the product is installed in the correct location and to your satisfaction is it important that you are available when the installation team arrive and when they have finished the building. The installation team will ask you to sign a customer satisfaction form. You should note on this form any problems that you have with the building at this point. If problems haven’t been noted at this point and a re-visit is required to resolve the problem you will be charged a call out fee.

Aborted Deliveries - What happens if we cannot install your garden building.

 

1. If the installation team arrive and are not able to complete the installation of your building for any of the following reasons:

 

  • Suitable base is not available.
  • No suitable access to your garden or location of your base.
  • You are not available at the point of delivery.
  • The delivery / installation of your building will be aborted and no refund can be given of the installation cost of your building. The building will be left on site for self installation.
  • If you still require the building to be installed then the cost of the re-visit will be 50% of the original installation cost.
  • If you are in any doubt of the any of the above please check with us prior to the date you have been given.

 

 

Planning Permission (Some Summerhouses and Buildings)

 

  1. Planning permission is not normally required for domestic outbuildings which are used for a domestic purpose incidental to the enjoyment of the house. However, you may require planning permission if any of the following apply:

 

  • If your building is to be erected within 5 metres of your house.
  • If the total area of the ground covered by any building is greater than 50% of the total garden area.
  • If there is a condition on the original planning consent of your property which states that garden buildings cannot be erected without the consent of the local planning authority.
  • If your property is a listed building or within a conservation area or area of outstanding natural beauty.
  • If you intend to run a business from the garden building, or store goods in connection with a business.
  • If the garden building is within 20 metres from a public highway.
