Description
A luxurious little garden retreat in which you can relax, the 6 x 4 Forest Oakley Double Door Apex Summer House (1.99m x 1.24m) is easy to assemble, extensively glazed and boasts premium features throughout.
PREMIUM MODULAR DESIGN AND BUILD
Expertly crafted here, in Great Britain, this small summer house includes a smart modular design. This means it comes with smaller panels but far more wood, so you’ll find it a lot easier to assemble and much stronger than other wooden summerhouses. Supported by a sturdy 28mm x 28mm frame, the traditional 7mm straight-cut, overlap cladding allows for the natural movement of the wood over the changing seasons, while ensuring excellent rainwater runoff.
FLOOR, ROOF AND FINISH
Made from 14mm solid wood boards, the floor is perfectly equipped to house your heavier summer house furniture. The pressure-treated bearers promote good air flow underneath the summer house, preventing the wood from getting damp, which protects this key area from rot and fungal decay.
The 8mm OSB roof features a smart, traditional apex design and is fitted with a premium mineral felt cover to protect you from the elements.
The roof’s diamond-shaped finial adds the finishing touch to this beautiful summerhouse’s exceptionally attractive appearance.
DOORS AND WINDOWS
You can gain comfortable access to the summerhouse via wide double doors, which come with sturdy handles, an internal bolt, exterior turn buttons and 3/4-length windows.
Thanks to 4 additional large, fixed windows, this summerhouse receives an abundance of natural light – perfect if you’re relaxing inside with a good book. All of these windows are made from lightweight acrylic, which is completely shatterproof and renowned for being far safer than conventional glass – ideal for those of you with a busy, family-orientated garden.
WOOD CARE AND GUARANTEE
The wood used to build this summer house is FSC®-certified, which is the only wood-certification scheme endorsed by all of the major environmental charities. It is pressure treated and delivered with an impressive 15-year anti-rot guarantee, so no further treatment is required, saving you money and leaving you more time to relax in your new summer house.
A full set of fixings and clear instructions are included to help you achieve a straightforward assembly.
THE OAKLEY SUMMER HOUSE RANGE
You can purchase a Forest Oakley Summer House in a range of sizes, with an apex or pent roof, and with or without a veranda – the choice is yours. All of these summerhouses boast the same premium-quality build.

The best overlap summer houses we've ever made
FOREST - A BRAND YOU CAN TRUST
Every Oakley summer house is made in Great Britain from ethically-sourced, FSC®-certified wood, so you’re benefitting from highly-skilled workmanship, while being kind to the environment.
ROOF
The 8mm OSB roof comes in a traditional apex design and is fitted with a premium mineral felt cover to keep the interior dry. Smooth-planed barge boards and a diamond-shaped finial nicely round off an exceptionally attractive appearance.
Pressure treatment forces preservative deep inside the wood. The result is long-lasting protection against rot and fungal decay. There is no need to re-treat EVER, saving an estimated £200 in time and treatment costs compared to dip-treated summerhouses.
Far superior to standard summerhouses, the 14mm wooden boarded floor will withstand years of constant footfall and enables you to store heavier items. It is fitted with pressure-treated bearers too, improving air circulation underneath the summerhouse, which prevents damp and rot.
The straight-edge 7mm overlap cladding is a traditional style, which we all know and love. It is robust, durable and ensures excellent rainwater runoff. It is supported by a sturdy 28mm frame for even greater strength and solidity.
Both the glazing on the doors and the additional windows are made from crystal-clear acrylic, so will neither fade nor discolour in the sun. It is a lightweight material, completely shatterproof and far safer than conventional glass.
Wide double doors offer you comfortable access to the interior. They are fitted with ¾-length windows so the summerhouse benefits from plenty of natural light. Interior bolts and exterior turn buttons keep these doors secure, whatever the weather.
Some of these summerhouses include a veranda, which is partially enclosed by 2 elegant balustrades. This makes for a very impressive entrance and offers you a small, additional sheltered space.

Comes with a 15 year anti-rot guarantee.

Pressure Treatment. No need for annual retreatment.

Smaller sections make transportation and handling easy.

Quick and easy construction.
Pressure Treatment Process Explained
The Pressure Treatment process for timber has been applied to products for a number of years; the key benefit of this process is that the preservative is forced under vacuum pressure right deep into the heart of the wood and the grain structure. The preservative becomes an integral part of the wood; giving a long life and protection against rot.
This process also means that you never have to apply preservatives to your garden shed, and it allows the natural colours of the timber to show through and so your shed blends easily within your garden. Surprisingly, our Pressure Treated summer houses are only slightly more expensive than our dip treated summer houses.

Timber is loaded into chamber and a vacuum empties timber cells of air.

Cylinder is flooded under vacuum with preservative.

Preservative is forced deep into timber using hydraulic pressure.

Another vacuum extracts excess preservative.

Timber draws in surface excess of preservative under low pressure, then is left to dry.

After felling, the timber is cut and processed in one of our nearby sawmills and taken to our manufacturing operation in the heart of Britain. It is here our skilled workforce proudly produce the widest range of garden buildings, fencing and structures available in the UK.
All of the products that we sell are dispatched from this site. The final part of their journey is managed by our dedicated delivery department who are responsible for distribution direct to customers' homes by our fleet of vehicles.
