Description

A superior shed offering you great value and excellent features, this 6x4 Overlap Pressure Treated Apex Wooden Shed is made by Forest Garden, one of the UK’s leading shed manufacturers.

This wooden shed has sturdy 7mm straight-cut overlap cladding which allows for natural timber movement in changing weather conditions and is supported by a 28x28 frame. As a modular shed with smaller panels, there is more framing than in standard sheds, resulting in a stronger build. The modular design also means the panels are less prone to warping. Joins in the modular construction are protected by outer weather covering strips to prevent any water ingress.

All of this shed’s timber has been pressure treated. The process forces preservative deep into the timber resulting in an impressive 15 year guarantee against rot and fungal decay without the need for further treatments. This superior treatment will therefore save you time and money in the long run.

While most sheds come with an OSB floor as standard, this garden shed includes a super 14mm boarded timber floor. Far superior to OSB flooring, this wooden floor is built to withstand storage of your heavier items as well as years of footfall. The floor is further strengthened by pressure treated bearers.

The roof is made from 8mm OSB and covered in a durable black sand roof felt. Reflecting the high quality of this shed, the roof is finished with smooth planed barge boards and a decorative finial.

You can rest assured that your stored contents will be secure. The single door of this 6x4 shed features Z-bracing for increased strength while the hidden hinges cannot be tampered with from the outside. The door is fitted with a hasp and staple closure, ready for you to add a padlock (padlock not included). The single door can be left or right hand opening.

This shed features four windows which, due to the unique modular format of this shed, offer flexible positioning. Any of the “D” side panels can hold 2 of the 4 windows, allowing you to place 4 windows down one side or have two windows on each side - the choice is yours. Please see the layout drawing for further details. The glazing is shatterproof PET which is made from recycled materials; it will not yellow or become brittle over time.

Instructions for a straightforward self-assembly are included. The smaller panels of the modular design are far easier to manoeuvre during build than standard shed panels. Or you can leave it all to the experts and purchase our installation upgrade. This shed should only be built on a level, hard surface and ideally placed on a shed base.

You can purchase a lean-to kit to provide this shed with a partially sheltered extension ideal for logs, outdoor storage boxes and other equipment that can withstand some exposure. Please note that this is not available for purchase separately or for retro-fitting as it needs to be installed at the same time as the shed is assembled. The timber of this lean-to is pressure treated for long lasting durability. If you are purchasing a dip-treated shed with this kit, please be aware that there will be a colour difference between the sheds due to the different treatments. Please also consider the combined footprint of the shed and lean-to when preparing your ground.

Manufactured in the UK, this garden shed is made from UK-grown FSC certified timber.

Shed Base Options

Wooden Shed Base

Wooden Shed Base Kit

As an alternative to laying slabs or concrete, this shed base is a faster, more cost effective DIY solution.

The wooden shed base consists of a framework that is made from UC4 incised timber which has been pressure treated. The pressure treatment ensures that the framework is robust and is guaranteed to resist rot for an impressive 15 years.

Size of base: 7.5cm (h) x 118cm (w) x 182.6cm (d)

Plastic Shed Base

Plastic Shed Base Kit

Quick and simple to install, the 6x4 plastic shed base kit is ideal for avoiding the hassle of laying slabs or concrete when preparing a base for a new shed. Its interlocking design makes it easy to put together and, though lightweight, it provides a very strong and durable base for the shed. Made from 100% recycled plastic, this shed base is eco-friendly. Also, it can be reused if the shed is repositioned. The base allows for ventilation and drainage under the shed, helping to keep the shed floor dry.

To install the base, simply interlock the square grids together and lay onto a firm, level area of ground. We recommend using 15kg of 10mm pea gravel per square (gravel not included). Each square is 500 x 500 x 50mm. This pack contains 12 squares and heavy-duty, commercially-graded weed membrane.

Why choose a Pressure Treated Forest Shed?

If you're looking to purchase a new shed and can afford a slightly higher initial spend, buying a pressure treated shed will save you a lot of time and money in the long term.

Forest branded pressure treated sheds have a number of features to ensure maximum durability and strength including boarded wooden floors, security door hinges, extra framing and so much more.

The best overlap sheds we've ever made

FLEXIBILE WINDOWS

Same size panels are interchangeable - you can choose the window placement to suit your garden allowing flexibility for your garden design.

FLEXIBLE DOORS

Doors can be positioned to the left or right of the shed. Single doors can be hung to be left- or right-hand opening.

  • treatment

Pressure treatment forces preservative deep inside the timber. The result is long-lasting protection against rot and fungal decay. There is no need to re-treat EVER, saving an estimated £200 in time and treatment costs compared to dip treated sheds.

  • floor

Strong 14mm boarded timber floor. This wooden floor is built to withstand storage of heavier items as well as years of footfall. The floor is further strengthened by pressure treated bearers. A timber floor is far superior to the OSB that comes with standard sheds.

  • extra strength

The design of our sheds features more extensive framing than standard sheds. This results in a more robust build. Larger apex models also feature a metal truss bracket that adds further strength to the roof and ensures best alignment.

  • cladding

Straight edge overlap cladding provides consistency and strength as well as providing the traditional style we all know and love. The high-quality cladding means the panels are less likely to warp or develop gaps.

  • windows

Our windows are glazed with shatterproof PET glazing, made from recycled materials, which will not yellow or become brittle over time. PET is more robust than the styrene used in standard sheds.

  • doors

Our doors feature double Z bracing for extra strength, security and to prevent the doors dropping. This is superior to the basic ledge bracing on standard sheds. Our doors are also fitted with hidden security hinges and a padlock-ready hasp and staple.

Comes with a 15 year anti-rot guarantee.

Pressure Treatment. No need for annual retreatment.

Smaller sections make transportation and handling easy.

Quick and easy construction.

Pressure Treatment Process Explained

The Pressure Treatment process for timber has been applied to products for a number of years; the key benefit of this process is that the preservative is forced under vacuum pressure right deep into the heart of the wood and the grain structure. The preservative becomes an integral part of the wood; giving a long life and protection against rot.

This process also means that you never have to apply preservatives to your garden shed, and it allows the natural colours of the timber to show through and so your shed blends easily within your garden. Surprisingly, our Pressure Treated Sheds are only slightly more expensive than our Dip Treated Sheds.

step 1 Vacuum

Timber is loaded into chamber and a vacuum empties timber cells of air.

step 1 Flooded

Cylinder is flooded under vacuum with preservative.

step 1 Pressure

Preservative is forced deep into timber using hydraulic pressure.

step 1 Vacuum

Another vacuum extracts excess preservative.

step 1 Dry

Timber draws in surface excess of preservative under low pressure, then is left to dry.
