Description

This 6x4 Overlap Reverse Apex Dip Treated Shed an ideal compact storage shed will provide you with a secure space to keep tools, as well as many other essentials, all without breaking the bank.

The 6x4 Overlap Reverse Apex Dip Treated Shed has been designed differently to the traditional styled apex shed, by reversing its build so that it is wider than longer siting the door and window in the side elevation. This will suit some gardens better than others and sits well up against walls and boundary fences.

The 6x4 Overlap Reverse Apex Dip Treated Shed is constructed using 8mm squared edged overlapping timber allowing rain water to run off yet allow some movement. The square board overlap cladding is fixed to 28mm x 28mm framing to give the shed its core rigid structure and stability.

The apex roof is made from 8mm OSB solid sheet board supported by sturdy battens and topped with a black sand felt and finished with smooth planed barge boards and decorative finial.

The single opening door features extra diagonal framing hung using hidden security hinges and screws provided. The door can be locked shut via the hasp and staple provided using a padlock (not included) There is a single unbreakable Polycarbonate window in the front gable which is UV stable unlike some cheaper alternatives and also fixed using security screws

The 6x4 Overlap Reverse Apex Dip Treated Shed is guaranteed against rot and fungal decay for 10 years provided it is sited on a suitable base and re treated with a timber preservative annually. The timber is FSC certified from sustainable sources.

Assembly is incredibly easy and will be completed in only a few hours thanks to the simple step by step instruction, fixtures and fittings provided.

  • 10 year guarantee against rot
  • Unbreakable Polycarbonate windows with security screws
  • 6 inch higher eaves than most other shed brands
  • Strengthened door with extra diagonal framing
  • Hidden door hinges and hasp and staple latch for extra security
  • The barge boards are manufactured from smooth timber
  • Thick roof battens to provide additional strength
  • 8mm overlap cladding, 8mm-10mm solid sheet roof and floor and 28x28mm framing
  • And finally we have added a finial on the apex sheds simply to make them look better!

Shed Base Options

Wooden Shed Base

Wooden Shed Base Kit

As an alternative to laying slabs or concrete, this shed base is a faster, more cost effective DIY solution suitable for use on uneven ground.

The wooden shed base consists of a pressure treated framework and galvanised steel spikes. The pressure treatment ensures that the framework is robust and is guaranteed to resist rot for an impressive 15 years. Galvanised steel spikes are then secured to the framework. They are designed to sink straight into the ground, so installation is simple and quick.

Plastic Shed Base

Plastic Shed Base Kit

Quick and simple to install, the 6x4 plastic shed base kit is ideal for avoiding the hassle of laying slabs or concrete when preparing a base for a new shed. Its interlocking design makes it easy to put together and, though lightweight, it provides a very strong and durable base for the shed. Made from 100% recycled plastic, this shed base is eco-friendly. Also, it can be reused if the shed is repositioned. The base allows for ventilation and drainage under the shed, helping to keep the shed floor dry.

To install the base, simply interlock the square grids together and lay onto a firm, level area of ground. We recommend using 15kg of 10m pea gravel per square (gravel not included). Each square is 500 x 500 x 50mm. This pack contains 12 squares and heavy-duty, commercially-graded weed membrane.

Dip treated sheds

Why choose a dip treated shed?

Dip treated sheds are economical as well as long-lasting; these garden sheds are perfect for those in search of a cost-effective storage solution for gardening tools, equipment, and outdoor toys.

To ensure maximum security, durability, and robustness, our Forest branded sheds are equipped with a number of other important features. For instance, hidden door hinges and a hasp and staple are used to provide extra security; the windows are made from unbreakable polycarbonate and attached with security screws; and the doors are strengthened with additional diagonal framing. Furthermore, the eaves height of the sheds is 6 inches greater than most other brands, providing maximum storage space.

Don't be fooled by cheap imitations. Buy a shed to last a lifetime!

Our Sheds

Our dip treated sheds are dipped in an anti-fungal solution treatment, providing short term protection. Therefore, they do not need to be treated for the first 12 months and come with a 10 year guarantee against rot when supported with annual retreatment.

Competitors' Sheds

An initial water-based treatment has been applied to protect the timber from mould for approximately 3 months. It is recommended that the wood be re-treated on installation and every year thereafter.

Dip Treatment Process Explained

Dip treatment is a tried and tested method of applying wood preservative to timber products, and the process is fairly straightforward. First, the timber is dipped into a cylinder containing a powerful wood preservative. The preservative is then absorbed into the surface of the timber and, after it’s removed and left to dry, it will be thoroughly protected it against both rot and fungal decay.

After the dip treatment process is completed, the timber will have a lovely orangey-brown hue, ensuring it will become an attractive feature of your garden, as well as complementing most fence panels. Of course, you can choose to stain your dip treated shed another colour upon assembly. If you’re interested in an affordable, practical, and sturdy dip treated shed, why not take a look at our featured products below?
