A pressure treated garden workshop offering you great value for a superior build, the Double Door 10x20 Epping Shed is part of Forest's Garden's innovative shed range: The Better Shed. The Better Shed is stronger, easier to build and boasts adaptable features designed to offer the best shed for you and your garden.
This Epping has sturdy 7mm straight-cut overlap cladding which allows for natural timber movement in changing weather conditions and is supported by a 28x28 frame. As with all of The Better Shed range, the Epping is modular. With smaller panels, there is more framing than in standard sheds, resulting in a much stronger build. The modular design also means the panels are less prone to warping. Joins in the modular construction are protected by outer weather covering strips to prevent any water ingress.
The high quality build of the 10x20 shed is further enhanced by the metal roof truss bracket, a bracket which supports the joins of the apex roof, adding strength as well as aiding a simpler build by ensuring the angles of the roof are easily and correctly aligned.
All of this shed’s timber has been pressure treated. The process forces preservative deep into the timber resulting in an impressive 15 year guarantee against rot and fungal decay without the need for further treatments. This superior treatment will therefore save you time and money in the long run.
While most sheds come with an OSB floor as standard, this garden shed includes a super 14mm boarded timber floor. Far superior to OSB flooring, this wooden floor is built to withstand storage of your heavier items as well as years of footfall. The floor is further strengthened by pressure treated bearers.
The apex roof is made from 8mm OSB and covered in a durable roof felt. Reflecting the high quality of this shed, the roof is finished with smooth planed barge boards and a decorative finial.
You can rest assured that your stored contents will be secure. The double doors of this garden workshop feature Z-bracing for increased strength while the hidden hinges cannot be tampered with from the outside. The doors are fitted with a hasp and staple closure, ready for you to add a padlock (padlock not included). The double doors provide greater ease when you are moving items, such as lawnmowers and wheelbarrows, in and out of the shed.
This shed features 8 windows which, due to the unique modular format of this shed, you can place in a variety of positions on the shed. Please see the layout drawing or call our friendly, UK-based customer service team for further details. All glazing is shatterproof PET which is made from recycled materials; it will not yellow or become brittle over time.
Manufactured in the UK, this garden shed is made from UK-grown FSC certified timber.
Instructions for a straightforward self-assembly are included. The smaller panels of the modular design are far easier to manoeuvre during build than standard shed panels. Or you can leave it all to the experts and purchase our installation upgrade. This shed should only be built on a level, hard surface and ideally placed on a shed base.

Wooden Shed Base Kit
As an alternative to laying slabs or concrete, this shed base is a faster, more cost effective DIY solution.
The wooden shed base consists of a framework that is made from UC4 incised timber which has been pressure treated. The pressure treatment ensures that the framework is robust and is guaranteed to resist rot for an impressive 15 years.
Size of base: 7.5cm (h) x 300.6cm (w) x 590cm (d)
Plastic Shed Base Kit
Quick and simple to install, the 10x20 plastic shed base kit is ideal for avoiding the hassle of laying slabs or concrete when preparing a base for a new shed. Its interlocking design makes it easy to put together and, though lightweight, it provides a very strong and durable base for the shed. Made from 100% recycled plastic, this shed base is eco-friendly. Also, it can be reused if the shed is repositioned. The base allows for ventilation and drainage under the shed, helping to keep the shed floor dry.
To install the base, simply interlock the square grids together and lay onto a firm, level area of ground. We recommend using 15kg of 10mm pea gravel per square (gravel not included). Each square is 500 x 500 x 40mm. This pack contains 91 squares and heavy-duty, commercially-graded weed membrane.
Please be advised that we do not assemble plastic shed bases as part of our installation service. You must prepare the base yourself in advance of the installers' visit.
Do you need a Better Shed?
Forest Garden are proud to introduce their latest innovation: The Better Shed. With three ranges - the Kielder, the Delamare and the Epping - offering choices of treatment and construction, you can configure a shed that suits you and your garden. Why choose a Forest Epping Shed?
If you're looking to purchase a new shed and can afford a slightly higher initial spend, buying a pressure treated shed will save you a lot of time and money in the long term.
Forest branded pressure treated sheds have a number of features to ensure maximum durability and strength including boarded wooden floors, security door hinges, extra framing and so much more.
The best overlap sheds we've ever made
Same size panels are interchangeable - you can choose the window placement to suit your garden allowing flexibility for your garden design.
Doors can be positioned to the left or right of the shed. Single doors can be hung to be left- or right-hand opening.
Pressure treatment forces preservative deep inside the timber. The result is long-lasting protection against rot and fungal decay. There is no need to re-treat EVER, saving an estimated £200 in time and treatment costs compared to dip treated sheds.
Strong 14mm boarded timber floor. This wooden floor is built to withstand storage of heavier items as well as years of footfall. The floor is further strengthened by pressure treated bearers. A timber floor is far superior to the OSB that comes with standard sheds.
The design of our sheds features more extensive framing than standard sheds. This results in a more robust build. Larger apex models also feature a metal truss bracket that adds further strength to the roof and ensures best alignment.
Straight edge overlap cladding provides consistency and strength as well as providing the traditional style we all know and love. The high-quality cladding means the panels are less likely to warp or develop gaps.
Our windows are glazed with shatterproof PET glazing, made from recycled materials, which will not yellow or become brittle over time. PET is more robust than the styrene used in standard sheds.
Our doors feature double Z bracing for extra strength, security and to prevent the doors dropping. This is superior to the basic ledge bracing on standard sheds. Our doors are also fitted with hidden security hinges and a padlock-ready hasp and staple.
Comes with a 15 year anti-rot guarantee.
Pressure Treatment. No need for annual retreatment.
Smaller sections make transportation and handling easy.
Quick and easy construction.
Pressure Treatment Process Explained
The Pressure Treatment process for timber has been applied to products for a number of years; the key benefit of this process is that the preservative is forced under vacuum pressure right deep into the heart of the wood and the grain structure. The preservative becomes an integral part of the wood; giving a long life and protection against rot.
This process also means that you never have to apply preservatives to your garden shed, and it allows the natural colours of the timber to show through and so your shed blends easily within your garden. Surprisingly, our Pressure Treated Sheds are only slightly more expensive than our Dip Treated Sheds.
Timber is loaded into chamber and a vacuum empties timber cells of air.
Cylinder is flooded under vacuum with preservative.
Preservative is forced deep into timber using hydraulic pressure.
Another vacuum extracts excess preservative.
Timber draws in surface excess of preservative under low pressure, then is left to dry.
NO NEED TO RE-TREAT - SAVING YOU TIME AND MONEY!

Well made in Britain
The majority of the timber we use is grown and felled from managed UK forests across Scotland and Wales. After felling, the timber is cut and processed in one of our nearby sawmills and taken to our manufacturing operation in the heart of Britain. It is here our skilled workforce proudly produce the widest range of garden buildings, fencing and structures available in the UK.
All of the products that we sell are dispatched from this site. The final part of their journey is managed by our dedicated delivery department who are responsible for distribution direct to customers' homes by our fleet of vehicles.
Helping Everyone Thrive
We like to do our bit for charity and are proud to support Thrive. Thrive uses gardening as therapy to bring about positive changes in the lives of people living with disabilities or ill health, or those who are isolated, disadvantaged or vulnerable.
