Product Treatment - Guarantee Terms and Conditions
All pre-treated products carry a statutory one-year manufacturer's guarantee.

Anti-rot
Beyond that time frame, the following applies:
Standard/Dip-treated products carry a 10-year guarantee against rot.
Pressure-treated products carry a 15-year guarantee against rot.
Anti-rot protection guards against fungal decay and insect attack. The guarantee does not cover movement, warping or splitting of timber products over time.

Specific Terms
If any part of pre-treated timber is cut, notched or drilled then an approved cut-end treatment should be applied.

Dip-treated products should be isolated from the ground with a pressure-treated gravel board (or concrete) to comply with the conditions of the guarantee.

A suitable weatherproof/coloured treatment should be applied every one to two years to maintain the appearance and performance of the timber. The relevant manufacturer's guidelines should be followed.

General Information
Wood is a natural product and therefore susceptible to certain changes in the outside environment. Extremes of temperature or changes in weather conditions will cause a reaction in timber used outdoors. Heat may cause panels to lose shape, and the process will be reversed when temperatures fall. Posts and pergolas may warp in higher than normal temperatures. This is perfectly normal and the product will return to its usual shape as temperatures cool. Sawn timber and machine-rounded items in particular, such as sleepers or palisades, may split. This will not affect the structural strength of the wood or the product guarantee.
